A former car dealer in Berchem is being transformed into a place with social housing, childcare and neighbourhood facilities. The social housing company Woonhaven and the architectural firm Collectief Noord were strongly committed to circularity. In the tender for contractors, BLIEBERG A.C.E. supported the constructor Houben NV in making choices (with sufficiency as a guiding principle), formulating circular alternatives in terms of materials, systems, construction,… calculating the choices and alternatives in terms of impact on CO2, budget, timing, risk. Houben NV won the tender and started the works in the spring of ’26.
